He pulled the injector pump and they wanted approx. Changed the fuel to fresh diesel and about the same. So I joined this forum and got wiring help and a couple of parts from another member and got the glow plugs on ebay for $6.98 ea. Then the head needed rebuilt because of cracked exhaust seats for $400 later and blood and sweat it still wouldn't run. Local parts house wanted $32.00 each and he didn't have it wired properly so he burned up $130 on his first try. Then is had starting problems and at 3,000' it needed glow plugs and the wiring had been trashed before. It has the shuttle shift and the linkage is worn badly. Tires were the first at $500 for two used ones. My friend has one and he has had problems just about every sense he bought it for $2500. Signing your post with a name and location helps get answers. Would like shuttle shift, but the price is right. It's my first hoe, It's diesel, gear shifted. So I'd love to hear general feedback on hte machine itself. there's no place that'll make it locally anymore, as we're such up and comers around these parts. If I could find a fitting size, I could order a new one. I don't know if it's a hard or soft hose. I can't find ANYTHING about the brakes, hard lines or soft, if soft the fitting size, and so on. The machine is 1.5hr away and I can't go see it until saturday, so I'm trying to find out what type of system it uses. Most concerning is the fact that it has no braking power without standing on the brakes with both feet, and even then it's minimal. They're not like the other models built on the 444 chassis for hte loader, but something different. from what I read, they're british made, incredibly durable, and nearly impossible to find parts for. I've read everything on the net about this tractor, which encompases about 20 minutes sadly. I'm quite excited about it, I love my tractors and big toys. I'm mechanically inclined, i've rebuild those machines as well as every car to grace my garage at some point or another. I've had numerous mid size machines before, a 47ish farmall super c, 49 case VAC, 71 cub 154. It's not much, only 2 acres, but a good portion is very overgrown and it grows rapidly, so tackling it is quite the headache. Mainly stump removal, shrub removal, grading, etc. I'm looking at picking up one of these to do some work around my yard.
